Michael Stone is Another Advanced TRCOA Student who is nearing completion of the Recording Arts Program. Michael is currently working on first EP, Heartbreak Hotline, that he will release under his artist name of Robby Blue this summer.

Background

From a young age Michael knew he wanted to produce music. Coming from west Texas, He had a passion for music at a young age. He told me that when he was 9 years old, he would watch the Grammys and be inspired to create music.

By the age of 15, he had moved away from Texas to Los Angeles. When it came time for him to choose where to continue his education after high school, TRCOA was a perfect choice for him. Being naturally musical, He wanted to turn that passion into a career. The Austin area was the perfect spot for that.

Challenges

Over the last year, Michael has faced many of the same challenges that affected other students. When the US shut down, many lost access to the studio. Michael said he had no idea what to do. He had lost his job as an audio engineer.

But Micheal found another way to continue his work, Over the course of the lockdown, he began doing live streams of his music. He said that doing live streams was a lot more relaxed than Live Shows.

With live streaming music, he had to worry about latency issues that come with doing live shows over the internet, but he said he still prefers it.
